Cioccoshow — The Magic of Chocolate
The Cioccoshow came to New York last week and I was lucky enough to have a taste. Cioccoshow is an annual event held in Bologna, Italy featuring artisanal chocolates made in Italy. This year, the 10th edition of the show, will be larger than ever. The Cioccoshow runs from November 12 to 16. There will be courses and workshops with master chocolate makers from around the world for those who want to learn about chocolate-making, and plenty of tastings and entertainment for everyone else.
At the preview event I attended, there were cakes and cookies, filled chocolates, chocolate bars, gelato and chocolate covered coffee beans. My favorite, though, was the chocolate fountain, manned by this youngster, who was dipping candied orange zest, fruits, chestnuts and cookies into warm, liquid chocolate flowing from a chocolate fountain. It was luscious.
I was told that at the show, visitors can also find chocolate fashions (imagine a chocolate hat or necklace!), and chocolate pasta among other surprises. Saturday night is ChocoNight in Bologna, with musical performances, shows, and many other events.
The Cioccoshow is a must for all fans of top quality chocolate. You can find out more about it at www.cioccoshow.it.
